The Lakeview Conservative Mennonite Church was organized in 1966 as a part of the Conservative Mennonite Church of Ontario, which itself had begun in 1959 as a separation from the Mennonite Conference of Ontario over concerns about apostasy in the latter conference. The congregation began with eight members, most of which were former members of the  Zurich Mennonite Church. They were Alvin and Irla Gingerich, Lorne and Bernice Gingerich, Dennis and Marjorie Gingerich, Peter and Reta Steckle. Alvin Gingerich was an ordained deacon.

The congregation met in the Zurich town hall until 1967 when an abandoned school was purchased on Bronson Line North. Worship was conducted there until January 1979 when the present facility known as the Blake Mennonite meetinghouse was rented. In 1992 this property was purchased from the remainder of the former congregation there. The Blake Mennonite congregation was at one time Amish Mennonite, and had built the meetinghouse in 1885, but had amalgamated with the Zurich Mennonite Church.

In 1969 the congregation began a school known as Lakeview Christian School. This school was held in the church basement until 1979 when it moved upstairs. In 2001 a two-room addition was added, making this a three room school.

All ministers are unsalaried; the language of worship is English.
