Van Kampen was a Mennonite family at Leer, East Friesland, Germany, which had two (lay) Mennonite ministers, e.g., Kornelis van Kampen, at Leer, who served his home church from 1729 till his death in 1863, and his son Kornelis van Kampen Kornzn, who was a minister at Emden 1739-1756, and in the Zon congregation at Amsterdam 1757 till his death in 1781. In the northeast of the Dutch province of Groningen there is also a Mennonite van Kampen family, many members of which have served the congregation of Mensingeweer as deacons.
