The Dutch martyr book <em>Historie der Warachtige getuygen Jesu Christi </em>(Hoorn, 1617) contains two accounts on these martyrs, both incomplete; the second account was used by van Braght. Joris and Jacob are celebrated in a hymn, "Broeders en susters al ghemeyn, fondeert alleen op Christum den Steijn" (Brethren and sisters all together, build only on Christ, the Stone, as foundation), found in the <em>[[Tweede Liedeboeck, Het|Tweede Liedeboeck]] </em>of 1583.
