Janssen, Dirk (1677-1750)
Dirk Janssen, after 1719 a Mennonite Ältester (Elder) of the Old Flemish congregation (called Klerkschen or Huiskopers) at Danzig, West Prussia, a brother of Ältester Anthony Janssen (d. 1725), who in 1725, after the death of the Dutch Ältester Adriaan van Gammeren, at the request of the Danzig Old Flemish congregations of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, moved with his family from Danzig to Amsterdam, where he served as an elder September 1725-1 November 1733. Then he returned to Danzig, serving there as mit-Ältester from 1733 to 1739, and Ältester until his death in 1750.
