Jan van Bemelen (d. 1538)
Jan van Bemelen, was an Anabaptist martyr of Maastricht, Dutch province of Limburg. When persecution arose there, Jan and his wife fled, but afterwards returned and were arrested. Jan was beheaded there in April 1538 on the Vrijthof square. His wife was released because she was not (re)baptized.
