Imago Dei Christian Community (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
Imago Dei (Latin for "Image of God"), led by professional artists Rob and Ruth Des Cotes, began in the fall of 2002 with 15-20 people and focused on the artistic community of Vancouver using a multi-campus structure. The church joined the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in 2003 and received funding from the conference's Board of Church Extension. At that time the church had grown to 30-40 people and met primarily in home groups. The church also ran two public gatherings a month in Fairview Baptist Church, 1708 W. 16th St. in Vancouver featuring an arts-based outreach service with dancers, poets, film and music, and a contemplative service featuring Taize-styled worship of sung prayer and communion.
In 2010 the congregation had 40 members and an average weekly attendance of 100.
