Hyde Creek Community Church (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada)
Through the outreach of the British Columbia (BC) Conference of Mennonite Brethren (MB) Churches, Willingdon Mennonite Brethren Church sent out Ted and Pat Klassen and several other families to establish a new ministry in the Tri-Cities area. Hyde Creek Community Church began services in 1989 and was formally organized in 1990 under the leadership of Ted Klassen. Initially, they met in several schools and primarily at the theater of Terry Fox Secondary School. The congregation joined the BC MB Conference in 1990.
In 1999, Hyde Creek purchased office space in the Kingsway Corporation Centre on Kingsway Avenue in order to accommodate mid week ministries and house offices. In 2001, Ted Klassen moved on to lead another congregation, and Ken Braun was hired on to fill the vacancy in 2003. Eventually, Hyde Creek began discussing the possibility of constructing a church building of their own. In 2006, Hyde Creek purchased land on the corner of Galloway and Coast Meridian with construction on the new building set to resume in either late 2007 or early 2008. For the time being, Hyde Creek has been meeting in Mary Hill Baptist Church for worship services since April 2007.
In 2010 the congregation's membership was 69 and the average weekly attendance was 81.
The church held its final service on 26 June 2016.
