Horst, Klaas van der (1731-1825)

Klaas van der Horst, born 1731 at Amsterdam, died 1 May 1825 at Haarlem, studied at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary 1747-1752 and was a minister of the Dutch congregations of Goes 1752-1757, Zwolle 1757, Leiden 1757-1761, and Haarlem-Flemish-Waterlander congregation (Peuzelaarsteeg congregation) 1761-1784 and United congregation of Haarlem 1784-1803. He published only a sermon, which had been preached on the occasion of the union of the two Mennonite congregations of Haarlem into one on 7 November 1784. A sermon on John 15:14, preached on 5 July 1767, is found in manuscript in the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Library (Bibliotheek en Archief van de Vereenigde Doopsgezinde Gemeente te Amsterdam)|Amsterdam Mennonite Library]].
