Hope Mennonite Church, Columbiana, Ohio, USA, began in 1960 as the result of divisions within local Mennonite churches, including the North Lima Mennonite, Midway Mennonite, and Leetonia Mennonite churches. Issues included the use of musical instruments in churches and the use of the prayer veil by women. The persons who left asked James Reusser, a General Conference Mennonite Church pastor at the Salem Mennonite Church near Dalton, Ohio, to speak on Sunday afternoons. On 16 October 1960, the congregation formally organized. It began to meet in a room at the high school on Sunday mornings with Lester Hostetler as a "guest" pastor.

The group joined the Central District Conference and the General Conference Mennonite Church in 1962. A. J. Neuenschwander became the first local pastor in July 1961. Hope Mennonite purchased an older church building and dedicated it on 8 July 1962.

Regular services ended in July 1982, and the church building was sold.
