Hillegont Petersdochter of Amsterdam, where she lived in the house "De Engel," had lodged the Anabaptist bishop of Amsterdam, Jacob van Campen. Because of this fact she was sentenced on 1 June 1535 "to be hanged and strangled before her own door, as an example to others." Hillegont was not a member of the Anabaptist congregation.
