The [[Old Order Amish]] settlement near Granger, [[Minnesota (USA)|Minnesota]], USA began in July 1993 when Amish families from the Mt. Elgin, [[Ontario (Canada)|Ontario]], [[Canada]] settlement moved to the area. Other families also moved in from settlements in [[Iowa (USA)|Iowa]], [[Wisconsin (USA)|Wisconsin]], Minnesota, [[Missouri (USA)|Missouri]] and elsewhere. Since Granger is located on the Minnesota-Iowa state line, it was not long before the settlement extended into Iowa, reaching down almost to Cresco.

In April 2008 there were 56 families in three church districts (congregations) and five schools. By that time most of the Canadian Amish had moved elsewhere. Although initially the settlement emphasized farming, the high price of land saw the beginning of a number of shops. In 2007 the selling of milk in cans was no longer possible, so the community moved to bulk tanks. Some farmers switched to goat milking.
