Gospel Light Fellowship (McVeytown, Pennsylvania, USA)
Gospel Light Fellowship in McVeytown, Pennsylvania, USA was started in 1972. The congregation has an Old Order Amish background. Several families became concerned when they believed youth were being baptized with a questionable conversion faith, they did not approve the toleration of smoking tobacco, and believed communion services were held without congregational unity.
They attended the Emmanuel Fellowship church for a two years, and in late 1971 purchased a former cider press building for the newly forming congregation which was informally called the Cider Press Church by the local community. The Emmanuel congregation agreed to send Bishop Jacob Byers for two years to help establish the new congregation. In 1977 the congregation built a structure for a church and a school.
In 2018 the church had 85 members and was a member of the Mennonite Christian Fellowship. The ministerial team included Bishop Daniel M. Stoltzfus, Ministers John P. Lapp and Samuel J. Peight, and Deacons Steve Hershberger and Vernon Nissley.
