Gillis van Havre (Havere), an Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake on 9 May at Antwerp, Belgium. Gillis van Havre, who is said to have been a young man, was sentenced to death because he was (re) baptized, and because he was not willing to recant. Apparently this martyr is the same person as Jelis Claversz and Jelis de Metselaer, who are listed in van Braght's <em>Martyrs' Mirror</em> as different persons.
