Geervliet, a town in the Dutch province of South Holland on the island of Putten, formerly the seat of a small Flemish Mennonite congregation. It seems to have formed one congregation with the neighboring towns of Heenvliet, Spijkenisse, and Zuidland; was also called "het Brielsche land" congregation; later it was usually called Spijkenisse. Of the origin of this congregation nothing is known. It may have been founded by Anabaptist refugees from Flanders. It was represented at the Flemish conference at Leiden in 1660 by its preachers Huygh Barentsz van der Klock, Leendert Pietersz, and Adriaen Jansz.  In 1674 it joined the stricter branch of the Zonists. For many years it was financially supported by the church of Rotterdam. In 1671 Jan Abrahams was chosen as a preacher, but he served for only one year, moving to Brielle in 1672. After this the pulpit was nearly always vacant. In 1733 and again in 1736 it contributed a small amount to the Dutch Fund for Foreign Needs in behalf of the Prussian refugees; so it still existed at this time; but soon after, in any case before 1760, it must have been dissolved.

The martyr Jan Jansz Brant, a native of Zuidland, was executed at Geervliet on 29 November 1559. Whether there was already at this time a congregation cannot be determined.
