Frick, Leonhard (d. 1528)

Leonhard Frick (Frijk), an Anabaptist martyr concerning whom little is known through the records of the capture and death of his companion Hans Schlaffer. Frick and Schlaffer were seized 5 December 1527 by the Schwaz-Freundsberg magistrate Sigmund Kapeller. It is not known whether Frick, like Schlaffer, was subjected to torture; it is merely known that at his trial he declared that he would not renounce his faith nor betray his brethren. Sentence was passed on both, 20 January 1528. They were executed by the sword at Schwaz, Tyrol, Austria on 4 February 1528.
