Fairhaven Mennonite Church (Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA)
The Fair Haven Mennonite Church (later Fairhaven) in Fort Wayne, Indiana, began after the Leo Mennonite Church began a Sunday school in the western part of Fort Wayne in 1951. This was a primarily African American area of the city. In 1953, Leo Mennonite took over a formerly nondenominational mission building on West Taylor Street when its leaders moved elsewhere. Leo Mennonite held the first Mennonite Sunday school on 18 July 1954.
Fairhaven became an interracial church that attracted local African Americans as well as white students from Fort Wayne Bible College.
In 1972 the congregation moved to its present location on Winter Street.
