Duttweiler (Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)
Duttweiler, a region in the Neustadt district of the Palatinate, Germany. In 1716 three Mennonite families, Janzen, Berdoldt, and Egli, were living there. When in 1724 a register was made of the Palatine Mennonites "in what state of nutrition and wealth" they were, only two families are named: the wealthy Abr. Egli, hereditary leaseholder of the monastic estate of St. Lamprecht, and the "poor" family of Ulrich Burkhart, who had taken over Bergtholdt's farm. The list of Mennonites of 1738 names only Abr. Eichli; that of 1743 lists three families—Jac. Egel, Joh. Lichti, and Egel's widow; in 1759 two families, Joh. Lichti and Isaac Bergthold; in 1768 the same; in 1778 a total of nine Mennonites, presumably two families. In 1832 only four Mennonites are named.
