Cypress Hutterite Colony near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, was founded in 1953 as a division from the Big Bend Hutterite Colony (Cardston, Alberta, Canada).

A daughter colony of the Cypress Hutterite Colony is the Carmichael Hutterite Colony (Tompkins, Saskatchewan, Canada).

In 2017 the Cypress Hutterite Colony was a Lehrerleut colony.
