Cypress Hutterite Colony was founded in 1975 as a division from the Homewood Hutterite Colony. In 2017 Cypress Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.

MillsHof Hutterite Colony and Clarion Hutterite Colony are daughter colonies of Cypress Colony.
