Clara Joostendochter, an unmarried woman, was taken prisoner 24 May 1539 in the house of Lambrecht Duppijn at Haarlem, Dutch province of North Holland, where a meeting was held. After a cross-examination on the rack she was drowned on 3 June 1539 at Haarlem. Likely she was a follower of David Joris.
