Church of God Prince of Peace (Miami, Florida, USA)
The Church of God Prince of Peace church in Miami, Florida, began in 1998 as an outreach to Haitian refugees. Hilaire Louis Jean led the group and held the first meetings in his home. The outreach was led by the Southeast Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church (MC).
In 2002, with the assistance of Mennonite Men, the congregation purchased a former Pizza Hut restaurant. A new building project began in 2016 and continued for many years.
By 2014, attendance grew to 200 people, and services were conducted in three languages: Haitian Créole, English, and French.
In 2018, the Southeast Mennonite Conference withdrew from Mennonite Church USA. Subsequently, it became a bishop district of LMC: a Fellowship of Anabaptist Churches. Church of God Prince of Peace was part of this transition.
