Cedar Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Hydro, Oklahoma, USA)
The Cedar Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation near Hydro, Oklahoma, USA was established in April 1959. The congregation started as a mission outreach of the denomination's General Mission Board. Rex Smith and his family were the first missionaries.
The group first met in an old school building southeast of Thomas. It purchased the building and held services there until it moved to a building northwest of Hydro. In 1999 the congregation built a new church building on land purchased in 1998.
The Sandy Hills Christian School began in 1997. It started in the mission house in Hydro. In 1998 it moved to the current property, first to a garage converted into a school, and then the new building.
When there were not local ministers posted by the mission board, the congregation was served by ministers from Fairview and Chickasha.
In 2019 the congregation launched the Red Rock Mennonite Church in Eakly, Oklahoma. About 42 members and a minister joined the new church.
In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The minister was Calvin Koehn.
