Brooksville Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Brooksville, Mississippi, USA)

The Brooksville Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation on the eastern edge of Brooksville, Mississippi, USA was established in 1974. The congregation started as a sister congregation of the South Haven Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, located in Macon, Mississippi.

Families had begun to move to the area already in 1965; at that time, the land was mostly forest or pasture land. Originally, farmers raised soybeans, but this evolved over the years to include corn, milo, and wheat.

The Brooksville church building was completed in 1975. About 75 members, a pastor, and a deacon joined the new congregation. In 1991 a tornado heavily damaged the roof of the church and destroyed the carport. In 1995 a new sanctuary was built adjacent to the original building, which was converted to Sunday school rooms and fellowship hall.

Brooksville began its own cemetery in 1986. It shared a school with South Haven until 1994, when the new Countryside Christian School was built east of Brooksville.

In about 2002, Brooksville established the Brook Haven Church of God in Christ, Mennonite about nine miles further east. Fifty-nine members of Brooksville, including one pastor and one deacon, joined the new congregation.

In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The ministers were Devonn Miller, Kendall Jost, and Gladwin Koehn.
