Boleradice (Polehradice, Poleradice; German: Pellertitz, Bellerditz), a market village in Moravia five hours southeast of Brno and north of Niemtschitz. Here on the estates belonging to the Zawis of Wickow the Hutterites expelled from Klein Niemtschitz established a small Bruderhof in 1559. But already in 1563 they were driven out by the owner. They returned later, however. In the Boleradice Bruderhof occurred the death of the deacon Abraham Laub on 8 April 1612. The householder Georg Riedel caused the Bruderhof great distress by his absorption in alchemy to the neglect of his duties; he was expelled on 16 July 1612, but after making confession he was admitted to the Kostel (Gostal) Bruderhof. The Boleradice Bruderhof suffered severely in the period of the rebellion, being plundered eleven times beginning on 19 August 1619, and "robbed of many horses and much goods." The sisters of the Bruderhof had been hidden in a camp in the woods, but the rude soldiery found them there and raped six of them. The year 1621 brought new misfortune; on 8 February the Bruderhof was plundered by Saxon horsemen, who took away 20 barrels of "rare wine," and on 19 February it was burned down, and was left desolate.
