Boerma, Nicolaas Westendorp (1872-1951)

Nicolaas Westendorp Boerma, b. 6 April 1872, d. 28 November 1951, was pastor of the Dutch Reformed Church at Blija 1898-1931, and at Budel 1931-1937. He also was professor of ethics at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary 23 October 1935-1945, and professor at the University of Amsterdam 1939-1945. Among his publications should be mentioned Realistische Ethiek (Amsterdam, 1939), Neen en Ja, a collection of ethical-religious studies (Amsterdam, 1939), and in cooperation with J. Maarse, De Wetenschap der Moraal (Amsterdam, 1939), which was a collection of the manuscripts of I. J. de Bussy, of whom Boerma was an attached disciple.
