Blair County Old Order Mennonite Settlement (Pennsylvania, USA)

The Blair County Groffdale Old Order Mennonite Conference settlement was begun in 1972 by Isaac H. Martin and Elam G. Zimmerman. This settlement straddles Blair and Bedford counties in Pennsylvania. As of 1 January 2011 this community had three meetinghouses. The four ministers and two deacons served all three congregations by rotating from  congregation to congregation. As of 1 January 2011 the following ministry team served the congregations--The presiding bishop was Irvin H. Zimmerman (ordained minister, 1972; bishop, 1983). The ministers were Mervin M. Martin (ordained 1973), David Z. Martin (ordained 1991), Alvin Z. Zimmerman (ordained 1994), and Jere F. Martin (ordained 2000). The deacons were Noah M. Newswanger (ordained 1994), Lawrence Z. Zimmerman (ordained 2001), and retired deacon David S. Nolt (ordained 1972). In 2012 there were approximately 160 households within the Blair County Groffdale Mennonite Community. 

Martinsburg Old Order Mennonite Meetinghouse

The Martinsburg meetinghouse is a wood frame meetinghouse measuring 56 feet by 60 feet. It was built in 1972 along Cove Road. 

New Enterprise Old Order Mennonite Meetinghouse

The New Enterprise meetinghouse is a wood frame building erected in 1980 along Replogle Road. It was revamped in 2001 and it measures 40 feet by 90 feet.

Piney Creek Old Order Mennonite Meetinghouse

The Piney Creek meetinghouse is a small wood frame meetinghouse that was built in 1991. In early 2011 a new permanent meetinghouse was under construction. It is located along Sportsman Road, and its dimensions were 50 feet by 64 feet.
