Bestvater (Bestvader) family

Bestvater (Bestvader) is a Mennonite family name in the Frisian congregations of West Prussia, first mentioned at Orlofferfelde in 1601. Nineteen families of this name were counted in West Prussia (without Danzig) in 1776, and 28 persons (including Elbing) in 1935. The family also spread to Russia and subsequently to America.
