Bekentenisse van beiden Sacramenten Doepe unde Nachtmael der Predicanten tho Munster (Confession concerning the two Sacraments, Baptism and Communion, of the Preachers at Münster) is an old confession of the evangelical ministers of Münster, Westphalia, Germany, before the revolutionary ideas of Jan Matthys reached this city. Author of the detailed tract is Bernhard Rothmann. The Voorrede dated 22 October 1533 is signed by Bernhard Rothmann, Johan Kloprijs, Hermann Staprade, Henric Rol, Dyonisius Vynnen, and Godfridus Stralen. It was printed in November 1533. Its meager ideas were as follows: Those who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and left off all kinds of unrighteousness and all evil works, should be baptized upon their faith. The communion (Nachtmael) was said to be "Eyne leeflyke bykumst unde gemeyn ethen unde drincken der christgeloevigen wo van chrysto tho syner gedechtnysse bevallen" (a fine meeting and common eating and drinking of those who believe in Christ, to which we have been commanded by Christ to His memory). The communion service was a commemoration of what He has done for us and a pledge of what we will do for Him in order to render thanks to Him.
