Johannes Pieterszoon Beelthouwer, author of Antwoort op een Boeckjen, genaemt Mennoos Kerk in en uyt Babel, . . . (Amsterdam, 1665), written as a reply to and refutation of the book by L. Bidloo, Mennoos Kerck in, en uyt Babel, ofte den Aenvang, Voortgang en Reddinge van de Verwarringen der Vlaamsche Doopsgezinden, . . . (Amsterdam, 1665). Beelthouwer repudiated the "slander" that Galenus Abrahamsz de Haan had corrupted Menno's church. Beelthouwer was a (non-Mennonite) Collegiant. In 1656 he was banished from Enkhuizen as a heretic.
