The Penn Street Mennonite Church in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, began in 1968 due to Mennonite young men performing their I-W Service in the city. Jason Denlinger served as the first minister of the group that met on Penn Street. The congregation became part of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference.

In about 1981, the congregation changed its name to Agape Fellowship of the Mennonite Church. For a time, the church met in a former Free Methodist Church building but moved to its current location on East Third Street late in the 1980s.
