Adriaen van Hee, an Anabaptist martyr and a cutler by trade, was seized with five other brethren at a religious gathering in the forest of Obignies near Doornik (Tournai) in Belgium. They were imprisoned in Doornik for fourteen days, and afterward, because they remained steadfast in the faith, burned at the stake "bij den Bosch op de Henegousche Heerlijkheyd" (near the forest in the Henegou territory) at Obignies. This execution took place in 1558. Other brethren burned to death at the same time with Adriaen were Joos Meeuwens, Willem Goosen, Egbert de Hoedemaker, and Lambert van Doornik.
