Adriaen de Hoedemaker (also called Kort-Adriaentgen van Gent: Short Adriaen from Gent), whose official name was Adriaen van den (or der) Zwalme, an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, was burned at the stake at [[Bruges (West-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Bruges]] in [[Belgium|Belgium]] 7 August 1573 (1574 in <em>[[Martyrs' Mirror|Martyrs Mir]]</em>[[Martyrs' Mirror|<em>ror</em>]] is an error).
