Aalst (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)
Aalst, a town (pop. 77,360 in 2006) located in the Belgian province of East Flanders, was the seat of a Mennonite congregation for a few years about 1539, in which year Rosiane 't Kernels was executed here. The congregation was soon extinguished by persecution.
