The Bethel Mennonite Church near Warfordsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, began as a mission outpost in 1963 of the Washington County (Maryland) and Franklin County (Pennsylvania) Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church (MC), particularly the Salem Ridge Mennonite Church.

Sometime before 2000, the congregation changed its name to Bethel Community Church.

In 2017, the congregation became part of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference when the small Franklin Mennonite Conference withdrew from Mennonite Church USA and voted to become a bishop district of the Lancaster Conference (later LMC: a Fellowship of Anabaptist Churches).
