The Aberdeen Evangelical Mennonite Church has been located in the north end of Winnipeg, Manitoba since 1957. Pastor Ardith Frey served in 2000 as a salaried congregational leader. (Pastors have been salaried since 1975.) The congregation has been affiliated with the Evangelical Mennonite Conference since 1957. The language of worship is English.

The congregation began services in 1951, and formally organized in 1957. The first building was occupied in 1954, with a subsequent building program in 1956. F.D. Reimer is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through urbanization from rural Manitoba. The congregation then met in shared facilities with the Trinity Lutheran Church, a building that became Trinity Place.

Aberdeen Mennonite was the first congregation in the Evangelical Mennonite Conference to have a woman pastor, as Ardith Frey served as the pastor from late 1992 to June 2003. The pastor in 2009 was Adam Robinson.

In March 2023 the congregation changed its denominational affiliation from the Evangelical Mennonite Conference to Mennonite Church Manitoba and Mennonite Church Canada. The congregation said it wanted to be part of a conference that fully blessed and supported the leadership of women.
