Spielmann, Christoph (1861-1917)

Christoph Spielmann, (1861-1917), director of the city archives at Wiesbaden, Germany, and the author of various works on pedagogy and history; for example, Sagen und Geschichten aus dem Nassauerland and Geschichte von Nassau, as well as novels, stories, and dramas. In 1894 he published an article in the Annalen für nassauische Altertumskunde und Geschichtsforschung (XXVII) with the title "Die Mennoniten und ihre Bedeutung fur die Kultur in Nassau," which aside from a few historical errors is a just evaluation of Mennonitism.
