The Humboldt Evangelical Mennonite Brethren congregation began services and formally organized in 1974. The first building was occupied in 1974. Randy Heinrich is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren.

Minister Sean Brandow served in 2011 as a congregational leader. The congregation has been affiliated with the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren (1974-1987) and the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches (1987-) after the conference changed its name. The language of worship is English.
