Joseph Kleinsasser was chosen as a preacher 12 March 1901 by the Milltown Hutterite Bruderhof in South Dakota, USA and confirmed 2 December 1902. He was a school teacher more than 17 years. On 11 February 1934 he was chosen as an elder of the "Schmiedeleut." He died 16 April 1947 at the Milltown Colony, Bernard, Manitoba, Canada.
