Quins family
Quins, a Mennonite family of Hamburg-Altona, Germany. Its ancestor was Hans Quins (born 1557 in Flanders, died of the plague 1597 at Hamburg), whose wife’s name was Rinske, and who was a cutler and a sword-maker. About 1580 he moved from Flanders, probably from Diest or its surroundings, to Hamburg. His daughter Jannecke (Hannchen, died 1663 at Altona) was married to Paul Roosen (born 1582 at Oldesloe, died 1649 at Altona).
