Meeting Place, The (Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada)
The Meeting Place was formally organized in 1998 and joined the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in May 1998. The congregation patterned itself after The Meeting Place in Winnipeg, and was especially effective at connecting with those who struggled with addictions and feeling disconnected from the church. Meetings were held Saturday evenings at Central Heights Church in Abbotsford. The congregation held its last service on 30 November 2008. In the fall of 1998 Ron Geddert began serving as director of ministry and Korky Neufeld as pastor of evangelism and discipleship. Geddert resigned in 2003, while Neufeld became the full-time pastor in November 2002, serving until the church closed in 2008.
