The Rio Corrientes Colony, Paraguay, located 255 km (158 mi.) from Asunción on 1,500 hectares, is the sister colony to Agua Azul. These settlements work closely with each other and also with the Luz y Esperanza Colony. These three settlements were the only ones in which mixed marriages with Paraguayans are welcomed in the 1980s, and in which Paraguayan believers were received into the congregation and the colony as full members. They called themselves the Mennonite Christian Brotherhood. In 1986 the Rio Corrientes Colony contained 167 persons in 18 families, of whom 12 were English-speaking and 6 were Spanish-speaking. Fifty-three were members of the congregation (40 English-speaking, 13 Spanish-speaking).
