Opal Union Mennonite Church (Fauquier County, Virginia, USA)

Opal Union Mennonite Church, now extinct, located in Fauquier County, about 15 miles (25 km) south of Warrenton, Virginia. Henry L. Rhodes of Augusta County moved to Fauquier in the late 1880s and asked the Virginia Conference (Mennonite Church) to send ministers to serve his family and evangelize the community. Other Mennonite and Amish families located here. Land was purchased for the Opal Union Church in September 1892. In 1900 E. J. Berkey, a son-in-law of Henry L. Rhodes, was ordained to serve this church.
