Arthur Amish Mennonite Congregation (Arthur, Illinois, USA)
The Arthur Amish Mennonite congregation (now extinct) built its church in 1897. Begun by dissatisfied Old Order Amish of the community, the church also received members from other states. A list of members who contributed money for the church treasury in 1898 contained 31 names. Ministers who served the church included Seth P. Hershberger, Moses J. Helmuth and Isaac A. Miller. The Western District Amish Mennonite Conference minutes for 1916 reported that the church had been sold. The members had previously moved to Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
