Verschuren family

Verschuren (Verschueren, Verschuer, van der Schuere), a former Dutch Mennonite family of Flemish descent, found in Rotterdam, where Joost Verschueren was a deacon of the Old Flemish con­gregation ca. 1631-1636, and particularly at Haarlem (Peuzelaarsteeg church), where they are found from ca. 1580 until the 18th century, some of them serving as deacons. Dionys van der Schuere was a Waterlander preacher at Haarlem and Amsterdam.
