Rintjes, Hendrik (1630-1698)
Hendrik Rintjes (Rintsius), (1630-98), a preacher of the Waterlander congregation in Leeuwarden, Dutch province of Friesland, and a book printer there. He had contacts with important scholars of his time and from 1656 on published a number of collections of verse. His own verse, of which he published several editions, mediocre in quality, includes Gedachten op den Jongsten dag, in versen vertoont (1681, reprinted 1685), De Morgenstond in haer somersche Vermaeklijkheden vertoont (Leeuwarden, 1684), and Ziele-Zucht ann God (Leeuwarden, 1698). Rintjes apparently also wrote a number of hymns found in the Mennonite hymnal Geestelijke Goudschale.
