Canaan Mennonite Chapel (Madison, Indiana, USA)
Canaan Mennonite Chapel began as an outreach of the Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church of Nappanee, Indiana. Four families moved to this area of south-eastern Indiana in fall 1976 to begin a mission work. Levi Mast was licensed and then ordained to lead the group. Initially the group met in homes or a nearby church while building the Canaan church building which was completed in 1977. Several years later a school house for a Christian school program was added.
Through the years attendance has ranged from 17 to 50. The congregation has been a member of the Midwest Mennonite Fellowship.
