Valley Gardens Community Church (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada)
The Valley Gardens Community Church in Winnipeg, MB began services in 1984. The congregation originated through outreach by the Manitoba Conference and the River East Mennonite Brethren Church.
In 1985 there were 21 members; in 1994, 65. The congregation dissolved in 1995. It had been affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba, the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship was English.
The congregation met at Valley Gardens Junior High School. Interim Minister John Epp served in 1994 as a congregational leader.
In 1995 Valley Gardens merged with the Northdale Mennonite Church (affiliated with the Conference of Mennonites in Canada) to form Jubilee Mennonite Church. The resulting congregation had dual membership in Mennonite Brethren and Conference of Mennonites. This was unusual, but was accepted by the conferences in 1995.
