Peter H. Unruh, son of Peter P. and Anna (Klassen) Unruh, was born in McPherson County, Kansas, 23 January 1881. He was ordained minister of the Alexanderwohl General Conference Mennonite Church congregation in 1900 and elder in 1915. He served as a relief worker in Russia under the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) 1922-23 and was for some years a member of the MCC and its vice-chairman. He also served for a time on the Conference Peace Committee and as treasurer of the Emergency Relief Board. He was married on 31 August 1905, to Susie Warkentin. He died at Goessel, Kansas, 20 July 1943.
