Meynart van Emden (or van Delft), a Dutch Anabaptist elder and leader of the revolutionary Münsterite wing, who was extremely active in various parts of the Netherlands. In November 1533 he was one of the 12 "apostles" sent out by Jan Matthijsz of Haarlem. He baptized at Amsterdam, The Hague, Brielle, and other places. The martyrs Anneken Jans of Brielle, Jan Everts of Middelburg, and Cornelis Cornelisz Kelder of The Hague were among those baptized by Meynart. He was still living in 1548; about his further life and his death nothing is known. By trade he was a weaver.
