Christ Community Church (Des Moines, Iowa, USA)
Community Bible Church, Des Moines, Iowa, USA, began in 1990 as an independent congregation withdrawal from the First Federated Church on Easter 1990. The group initially met at Urbanville High School. Later the congregation met in a rented space at a Presbyterian church. By 2020 it shared space with Temple B’nai Jeshurun, a Reformed Jewish worship center.
Sometime in the congregation's first six years, the congregation's name changed to Christ Community Church.
The congregation, under Kent McDougal's leadership, became influenced by the writings of John Howard Yoder, Donald Kraybill, Gerald Schlabach, and others. It also placed emphasis on the liturgical life and placed importance on small groups called house churches within the larger congregation.
In June 2004, Christ Community Church joined the Central Plains Mennonite Conference of Mennonite Church USA.
In 2023 the congregation remained part of the Central Plains Conference of Mennonite Church USA.
